Delete Your Scrabble GO Account in Easy Steps

So, after playing Scrabble GO for a while, you’ve decided that it’s not for you. That’s okay. It’s not for everyone. However, simply uninstalling the app from your phone is not enough. Your account and all its data still exist. From their perspective, your account is simply inactive. Follow these steps to delete your Scrabble GO account for good. It’s actually quite easy.

Disconnect Scrabble GO From Facebook

As we discussed in our article outlining easy instructions for Scrabble GO, the easiest way to start a game with friends is to sign in using Facebook. If you took this option, you’ll then need to disconnect your Scrabble GO profile from your Facebook profile if you want to delete your Scrabble GO account.

In the Scrabble GO App

To disconnect your Facebook account from your Scrabble GO account:

  1. Open the Scrabble GO app on your phone or tablet.

  2. Tap on your initial in the top-left corner of the app’s home screen. This will open your profile page.

  3. Tap on the gear icon in the top-right corner. This will open your profile settings.

  4. Tap on the Facebook icon in the middle.

  5. Choose to disconnect.

Scopely, the publisher of Scrabble GO, reminds users that any information you’ve already shared, like your name and profile photo, will not be removed automatically from your Scrabble GO profile. This data will remain until you change it or you ask Scopely to delete it. 

In Your Facebook Settings

When you follow the above steps in the Scrabble GO app, your Facebook profile should no longer be connected to the game. However, it’s a good idea to double-check from within Facebook too. 

  1. Open the Facebook app on your phone.

  2. Tap on the menu button (three horizontal lines) near the top-right corner.

  3. Choose “Settings.”

  4. Select “Apps and Websites” under “Security.”

  5. Tap the “Edit” button next to “Logged in with Facebook.”

  6. Check to see if Scrabble GO is on the list of active logins.

  7. If it is there, tap the circle icon next to it to select it. Then, tap the “Remove” button.

  8. Confirm by tapping the “Remove” button on the next screen.

You can also review your “apps and websites” login settings on the Facebook website. The process for removing Scrabble GO from your active Facebook logins is similar. 

Delete Scrabble GO Account Save Files

Even if you used the Facebook login option and then disconnected your Facebook account, game data may still be saved elsewhere. To delete your Scrabble GO account fully, you should also delete this data. The process depends on your platform.

Android: Remove From Google Play Games

If you have a Google Android smartphone or tablet, then your Scrabble GO account may be linked to your Google Play Games profile. To delete the associated data:

  1. Open the Play Games app on your phone or tablet.

  2. Tap on the more button (three vertical dots) near the top-right corner of the screen.

  3. Choose “Settings.”

  4. Scroll down to “Delete Play Games account & data” and select it.

  5. Look for Scrabble GO under “Delete individual game data.”

  6. Tap on the “Delete” button next to it. 

iPhone/iPad: Delete iCloud Game Data

Data relating to your Scrabble GO account may also be saved to your iCloud account on an Apple iOS device. Even when you uninstall the app from your iPhone or iPad, your iCloud account retains this data. To delete it:

  1. Open the Settings on your iOS device.

  2. Tap on your name (Apple ID).

  3. Choose “iCloud.”

  4. Select “Manage Storage.”

  5. Scroll to find Scrabble GO on the list and select it.

  6. Tap on “Delete Documents & Data.”

  7. Go back one screen to the iCloud list and find Scrabble GO again.

  8. Untoggle the switch (white) to disable iCloud sync for Scrabble GO. 

Optionally, you may also choose to stop saving game data to Apple Game Center. To do that, find “Game Center” in your Settings menu. Then, tap the button to turn it off.

Uninstall the Scrabble GO App

After you delete your Scrabble GO account data from Facebook, Google Play Games, and Apple iCloud, then it is safe to uninstall the Scrabble GO app.

How to Uninstall on Android

On an Android device, you have at least three options:

  1. Find Scrabble GO in your app drawer. Tap and hold its app icon. Drag it to the “Uninstall” section near the top of your screen. Tap on “OK” to confirm.

  2. Open the Settings app on your phone. Choose “Apps” or similar. Find Scrabble GO. You may need to tap on “See all apps” or similar. Select it and tap the “Uninstall” button. Tap on “OK” to confirm.

  3. Open the Google Play Store app on your phone. Tap on the menu (three horizontal lines), then “My apps & games.” Find and select Scrabble GO. Tap the “Uninstall” button, then “OK” to confirm.

How to Uninstall on iOS

On an Apple iOS device, like the iPad or iPhone:

  1. Find the Scrabble GO app icon on your Home screen.

  2. Tap and hold an app on the Home screen.

  3. Select “Edit Home Screen.” The app icons will start to jiggle.

  4. Tap on the “x” on the Scrabble GO app icon.

  5. Tap “Delete” to uninstall Scrabble GO.

  6. Tap on “Done” or the Home button to stop editing your Home screen.

How to Recover a Scrabble GO Account

What happens if you change your mind after you’ve already deleted your Scrabble GO account? The only way that you can recover an account you’ve already deleted is to contact Scopely customer support directly. There is a “Contact” button in the profile settings section in the Scrabble GO app.

Alternatively, you can try reconnecting your Facebook account if you had it connected before. This may be able to restore past account data.
